Privacy Policy

This policy explains what data VAYAM collects, why we collect it, and how you control it.

1. Data we collect

Account data: phone number, name, city, child's age range — collected at onboarding.
Optional profile data: photo, bio, interests, child's diagnosis (only if you choose to share).
Content: posts, comments, chats, marketplace listings.
Usage data: device type, OS, anonymised crash reports.

2. How we use it

To run the app: authentication, matching with other parents, showing relevant content.
To keep you safe: PII (phones, emails) is automatically masked in every public post, comment and chat.
To improve VAYAM: anonymised analytics on which features parents use.

3. Who we share with

We do not sell your data. We share data only with: (a) infrastructure vendors strictly to operate the app (Firebase Auth, MongoDB Atlas, Gemini AI for moderation), (b) law enforcement if legally required, (c) verified professionals only if you explicitly book a consultation with them.

4. Your rights (under DPDPA 2023)

Access: download all your data from Settings → Privacy.
Correct: edit any profile information anytime.
Erase: delete your account permanently — we remove your data within 30 days.
Withdraw consent: revoke data-sharing preferences anytime.
Grievance: contact our Data Protection Officer at support@vayam.club.

5. Children's data

VAYAM is for adults (18+) only. We do not knowingly collect data from children. Information you share about your own child stays under your control and is only visible to people you choose.

6. Security

Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. Verification documents (medical licences, ID proofs) are stored encrypted and accessible only to our review team.

7. Cookies / device IDs

The mobile app uses your device's advertising ID only for authentication and crash reporting — not for advertising.

8. Updates

If we change this policy materially, we'll notify you in the app at least 7 days before the change takes effect.
